- 1936 - Only Speech Therapist in Australia and New Zealand.
- First Speech Therapist at Spastic Centre, Mosman, New South Wales. 1981 - Appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire and honoured with establishment of the annual Elinor Wray Award by Speech Pathology Australia.

- 1931 - Established first speech therapy clinic at RACH.
- 1939 - Director of Training School for Speech Therapists at RACH, an Australian first.
- 1944 - Founding member for the Australian Association of Speech Therapists.
- 1949 - Founding fellow of the Australian College of Speech Therapists. Opened clinics for adult patients at Dental Hospital and Sydney Hospital.
- 1958 - Convened first meeting of the Lost Cord Club of New South Wales for laryngectomy patients.
- 1966 - Opened clinics in Velore and Madras, India.
