- 1948 - Established Miles Franklin Award for Australian Literature, which she provided for in her will.

- A Nationalist and Feminist, who joined the Trade Union movement in the United States in 1906.
- 1917-18 - She nursed at Ostrovo [Ostrovo, Kostolac, Požarevac, Serbia] during the Serbian campaigns.
- Published at least 13 works, with two posthumously.
